downpours. oklahoma city picked up two inches of rain. as far as the drought has gone, i know we're not in the growing season anymore, we still need the rains. we still need to fill up the reservoirs in someareas. kansas and oklomare wototend triest over the last month or two. they're the ones getting some of the rainfall. so that's great. as far as the situation goes, kind of had one of the classic battles going on with the cool air moving from the north. warm, humid air to the south. right in the m sl where we're locked in with the showers and thundetorm la. t atio oklahoma city is now dry. almost two inches of rain for you. but as you notice you still have numerous areas of rain in tulsa, oklahoma, three quarters of a inch. significant but not a drought buster. this morning, if you've been driving the pennsylvania turnpike, you needed the wirs, rt tov tdshe philadelphia area. even a little heavy down pour north of baltimore now. so if you're driving from baltimore back up here through wilmington, delaware, you're gog to get wetn the next half hour or so. be prepared for that

of the big cities in the east. right now we're not really seeing too many problems on the storm tracker radar. yesterday we didn't see all that many nasty storms. what's going to happen is the weather pattern is going to change. we have a big area of low pressure that's going to be moving down from the north and swing a cold front through the northern plains. today will be in the 80s. enjoy today. temperatures will take a big dip. it will track across the border of the u.s. and canada. behind it the coolest air of the season. many areas if you haven't had a frost or freeze yet, you will, including colorado. there's a potential that some areas could see snow in the northern rockies, maybe some spots of colorado as we go throughout friday into saturday. today you're in the 80s in areas of montana. tomorrow will be the 40s. enjoy it in minneapolis. the warmest day you'll have. middle of the country looks gorgeous. numerous showers on the eastern seaboard. you do need the umbrella in many of the areas if you live in the east. here's a look at the weather outside your window. chance of showers and

, let us get to the news live here at 5:30 a.m. at 30 rock in the center of new york city. we do begin with new developments out of libya. the a.p. reporting the u.s. state department is pulling more staffers out of its embassy in the capital of tripoli over security fears. the move is expected to be temporary until the security situation improves. the embassy was already operating with limited staff following the deadly attack on the u.s. consulate in benghazi that left four americans dead. it is now been 17 days since that attack. sources say fbi agents sent to investigate the murders still have not been able to visit the actual scene of the crime due to security concerns. secretary of defense leon panetta yesterday said there was no doubt terrorists were responsible. >> as we determined the details of what took place there and how that attack took place that it became clear that there were terrorists who had planned that attack. and that's when i came to that conclusion as, again, as to who was involved, what specific groups were involved, i think the investigation that is on going.
